As you can see, ours pack a lot of starting power in very compact case. Three of these will easily start a 20-hp idler motor. This is the only 240 volt start capacitor that i'm aware of more powerful than ours. All Phase-craft start capacitors come complete with a bleed resistor soldered across the terminals to prevent capacitor from storing dangerous high voltage charge after power has been shut off.

Your control panel must be properly designed to start idler motor within a few seconds, and then automatically disconnect the capacitor from circuit. Ours is the same diameter, much shorter, typically measures at least 550 mfd, and usually pretty close to 600 mfd. I've never seen one that measured more than 428 mfd.

They typically give you an honest 700 mfd, but in many cases, the large diameter can be issue. Never made available to the public before, this listing is for ten Phase-craft brand mfd 240 volt ac motor starting capacitors, as shown in first picture.

The second picture shows how our capacitor in middle compares with two other high power start capacitors commonly sold on and elsewhere. 5 or 10-hp motor by itself, but we parallel them with another mfd capacitor to ensure that they'll start even a balky. Free priority mail shipping.
